How many takes do you do?

My problem is I'm still getting used to talking while I concentrate on what to do. My instinct is to not talk because I'm relatively new to this. XD Ever have that problem?

I used to and still kind of do. Like at certain moments, maybe a very intense fight or something ill just go silent. But I kind of warn the viewer before. I'm like ah I gotta concentrate xD

To be honest I typically do everything in one take. If it's a bigger sketch where acting is important we do each thing 3 times. Just so we have variety to choose from and see which particular one works best. But for gaming, vlogging and the rest it's a one taker xD

I'll take that idea into consideration. And maybe pick something I have to think less about for my next LP. Because Portal is...Well, even though I know how to do the challenges I'll still occasionally brain fart.

Well, the stuff on my vlog channel is all ad-lib, but the main channel stuff is all scripted (with the exception of Monday's video). That said, I pretty much never do a second revision of a script - I write it out in my own voice, and then deliver it, sometimes changing phrasing here and there while shooting. It's mostly a matter of trying to get my videos to the length that I want, and giving myself the option to edit things well while maintaining continuity.

all depends for me..gaming is just one take unless the recording stuff goes bad...my own vlogs is normally one take... The main channel we do a few just so we have more to work with... and with wrestling...yeah there are not cuts in wrestling unless its physical lol

I do "Let's Plays" mainly so usually I keep it as 1 take, so that my reactions are natural.
Otherwise I'll possibly lose interest in what I'm doing, already know what's coming and not have just as much fun.
When it comes to commentary (I don't do these anymore) I would do about 3-5 takes

Since I'm a gamer ill usually do 2-3 takes of a video before I find perfection. But other times where I don't have a backup save handy I can't. Just curious how many takes do you guys do before you find perfection?

I normally do all my videos in one take...mainly because I don't have any spare time to do more...but sometimes I will repeat a video if something went horribly wrong or if I think it just sucked...

Example, it's 1:27 am now, I am starting to edit tomorrows video, I think it will be a long edit this time...must leave it uploading tonight...and at 6 am I gotta getup to go to work.

For my vlogs, I sometimes do 2-3 takes, depending on the video, but I never do more than 1 "take" on video games (I didn't even realize that was an option?). My videos are all "let's plays" anyway so I don't see the need for do-overs. If I mess up, I mess up!

As a vlogger, I just keep the camera rolling..and all I do before is just write down things I want to say. I just cut out anything I dont want ...or pauses. But the more and more I talk in front of a camera ...the more natural it becomes for me

yeah I'm talking about the sketch/type stuff. I know it's scripted yes, it's obvious it is. But it looks like these are all first takes, there's so much emotion in it and you seem so candid. Maybe you're not like me, but if I try to deliver the same line more than like 3 times I'm shot until I get away from it for a few hours, I can't... keep putting emotion in when I'm too familiar with what I'm saying.
