How many subscriptions?

I really try to keep my subs down, because I'll loose the overview!
But thanks for reminding me at some point to maybe clean my subs :D

I'm subscribed to about 50 channels of varying topics I enjoy. I won't subscribe unless I'm interested in the person's content and/or style, something I'd hope others would think about when/if subscribing to my channel.
Off-topic, I'd like to see YouTube do another "subscriber skim" to remove subs who haven't logged in nor watched a video and for all intensive purposes are just a number.

I've got 99. Which... is a lot. Especially because when I see an unwatched video my brain processes it like an unfinished RPG quest, so I gotta watch it.

... and if I don't want to watch it, then, uh, I mute it and let it play out long enough to count as watched.
I have a problem.

I have 195 Subs. I sub pretty much anybody that ask and break thing down into groups. Honestly without breaking things down into groups I probably won't watch YouTube as much it really makes life a lot better. The grouping system on youtube is clunky however.

1) The misc group of random people that asked if I would sub them this is my pot luck group (I try to check a few videos in this group daily just fro random amusement, If I like a like a video from it I'll upgrade there channel into a more viewed category. Surprisingly I have like a lot of misc content I wouldn't have seen otherwise this way.) I feel this is the heart of youtube misc small time creator stuff.

2) Contact group this is for channels, I've liked in which the creators have had discussions with me. I give them more viewing time.

3) Random categories of personal interest Fitness, MAA, Youtube, music and etc.

Everything I watch I always try to leave a comment just to be polite.

@Matthew Mikolow
Yeah, I would have way more subscriptions if the grouping was better. All I really want is the ability to separate my subscription video feed by priority and type, that doesn't seem too unreasonable...

You can do that it's just take a little work in the beginning.

go to My subscriptions > manage subscriptions > create new collection

You can make collections for whatever you want and add in whatever channel you would like to that collection. You could make a top priority collection channels you want to hold top priority in the feed.

It was a pain to set up at first but it makes life a lot more enjoyable with youtube subs before everything was one big cluster f**k so i wasn't watching anything I subbed.

Ahh! I set up my collections but couldn't figure out the actual point of doing so since I hadn't found the part where it actually arranged my sub feed. Thanks!

With my new channel I only really subscribed to anyone I knew for a fact was active and anyone I currently watch is very active because they have high subs and have been at it a long time (UberHaxorNova, ImmortalHD, Cr1tiKal, Syndicate, TheCreatures).

Overall im subbed to like 7 people

You're like, the super fan every tuber wants! (x

But in regards to the post, I used to have very few, until I up and joined YTTalk and I've met so many of you great creators who deserve way more subscribers than you have and now I have probably well over 40 something, which is a lot, considering Ive been here for like five days.

Love you all,

David
