How many subs to get the ball rolling?

I Love YTtalk
About how many subs did it take you to achieve to see a consistent increase in subscribers without having to do anything other than just keep on regularly posting videos?

Don't worry about subs. Subs don't equal views. Worry about audience retention and view time. If those are high YouTube will start feeding you views which will lead to subs. Lots of people who are on YouTube make the mistake of thinking subs = success. Views that YouTube gives you = success. A byproduct of that success will be subs.

That makes a lot of sense. Guess I better start working on improving my 1% average retention rate lol.

There's this thought on youtube that after you get a certain amount of subs that youtube will automatically become easier for you. Everyone on the boards want 1000 subs because apparently if you have 1k+ subs you'll finally be able to gain subs without trying. What @YouTuber1978 said is actually the reality. You're not going to grow organically after any specific number of subs. I still haven't gotten to the point where my channel grows on its own. I know youtubers with 20k+ that still won't grow on their own. You need the organic views for the organic subs. Which came first, the views or the subs?

Theres no set answer to that questions
channels grow at different rates
Ive seen some hit 100k then take another year to reach 200k
while another just hit 100k afew months ago and is past 200k now
Theres also channels that drop up and down,

Its all up to you, once your putting out quality stuff that your proud of and enjoy doing im sure youll keep growing
The speed of what happens is kinda out of your hands :P

lol yours is higher than mine :P

Anyway... My subscriber base grows now everyday, but it's far from smooth sailing. I need to keep working to gain these subs... I just grow with a few per day, I was hoping more at the point where I am now.
