How long should your video be?

Most of mine tend to be <5 minutes, but it all depends on the music that I'm covering. When it comes to a cover, you usually want to have the full length of the piece that you are covering, even if it is a long piece (especially classical music) since you want to show people the cover, but when it comes down to other content like comedy, vlogs, parodies, skits, animations, etc. try to keep it short unless there is something to keep the audience engaged (different scenery, camera angles, themes, etc.)

I think the only hard and fast rule when it comes to video length is that the content of your video should match the length of the video. Only got 30 seconds of content? Make a 30 second video. Got a 20 minute fast paced action packed episode? Make a 20 minute video. If half your video is side jokes and bloopers and stuff that doesn't anything, and there is only 2 minutes of actual content, then shorten it to a 2 minute video.
