My upload speed is capped at 0.5 mbps (I know, sad right?) so uploading take like 45 minutes for me. Gonna change to fibre soon, with 10 mbps roaring and it's probably gonna take just a few minutes then :)

Now, here I have a pretty good internet so it takes up to 10 minutes to upload my 250+mb video :)
but back in Lithuania my internet was the worst..I remember when I tried to upload 700+mb video and it took me like 16 hours and in the end I had error.. :/ the worst moment for any youtuber ;D

If I uploaf from our old "YouTube trusted" PC it takes 10-15 minutes. But if I try to upload from our new (6 months old notebook) it takes several hours (even though the IP is the same).

It only takes a few minutes, but even then, why is it such and issue if take a long time? Do it before going to bed. And why does it take hours to upload a video?

It's true that, video uploading take long time, but if anyone maintian youtube video post time schedule then it really easier to upload.....

Depends what you're filming in. If you are just filming in 240p or something ridiculous like that then it won't take long at all. But if like me you film in full 1080p then it will take a long time. What youtube does with hi res video is make a separate copy of your video for each resolution. So when you watch a video that gives you different resolutions available, essentially they are separate videos. This process can take a long time. You can use a program called handbrake which strips out some stuff from the video before you upload, it drastically reduces the file size. I stopped using it because I've noticed it gives my videos a weird haze like I'm in some sort of 90's sitcom. But you might have better luck. My videos are normally around 3 or 4 gb if I haven't used handbrake, and takes around 3-4 hours to upload.
