How long does it take to edit?

Okay so i just recorded my first vlog and I am in the process of snipping/cutting up all the dead air.
How long does this usually take for you guys? cause its taking me FOREVER... its so daunting lol
 
When you get used to editing, splitting up footage and what not its gets a lot quicker to produce a video. At first it often can seem like it takes ages but just experiment and mess around, that's how I started with videomaking.
 
like a hour per video but if its a big event type thing about 4 hours, cu i edit it alot
 
I've never vlogged before, but as far as editing in general, it takes the length of the video plus 10-15 minutes. Some videos can take forever though. My 100th (sort of ) video took almost 2 and a half hours to edit because I was taking very old footage and trying to remaster it.

I don't remember the name of the program, but it actually picks up on dead air, and removes it, leaving you to just close the gap between the clips. Great thing is, it leaves it open just in case you were making a silly face and weren't speaking, that way all you have to do is drag that little portion back out.
 
For me it depends. If its a skit video I will take the amount of footage I have and then quadruple it. So an hour of footage will take me 4 hours to edit (on a good day). For vlogs, its only about triple due to only having 1 angle shot. So its not quite as difficult. But yat 30 minutes of vlog recordings gets me 2+ hours of editing. And that's if I'm on the ball ha ha. So ya editing kind of sucks, but its what puts the icing on the cake. So make sure to take your time here.
 
If I count the amount of time watching tutorials and practicing different vfx tricks? Oh man.. I think our most recent video (coming out either today or tomorrow) took like 20-30 hours haha. But I tend to get distracted while editing, so it's a little hard to say.
 
I get distracted a lot while editing, but I've made templates for all my episodes so a lot of my editing is copy paste ^_^

Otherwise, including the rendering, it can take an hour. I'm a fast worker though, I could probably edit a 30 minute video in ~15 minutes if I actually focused :D
 
It entirely depends on the type of video; my montage that I created took me a while to completely edit, but a vlog/let's play can be done relatively quick. Don't worry though, the process of editing does get a lot easier/quicker as time goes on and as you get more experienced at it. Of course, investing in a new computer could help speed up the process as well.
