How long before you get offered to monetise your videos?

My girlfriend has been uploading original content for the past few days and all of the videos have more than 1k views on each more or less, lately I read here that videos with only 5 views on new channels were being offered monetisation almost immediately, does anyone here know what could make it take longer than usual? She has an approved Adsense account, all original content. Has YouTube changed the threshold again before you can monetise?

Well, as I always say, people always get monetised at random times. New people made after a certain date seem to get it earlier. Maybe its an automated system. I got offered adsense when I hadnt uploaded in half a year and only have 50k video views. Got me started again. Though, on GamePortable, it was a lot newer, often creating videos, no copyright at all, never got offered. Over 10k video views a day - For 10k video views a day, we hardly had any videos even, but we uploaded often and on a fixed schedule.

I would say it's so broad that you might as well just imagine it as random - it's easier and you get much the same result.

Google are just desperate.

I think you can do it yourself...you don't even need to be invited by Google. And I believe you're invited once you post like 2 videos up.

Post two vids up, incorrect.

YOu cannot do it yourself, the only way to get adsense yourself by applying is by applying and successfully becoming a Youtube partner, then you are forced to link adsense to YouTube. The only other way is to be asked by YouTube.

It's just Google adsense. Anyone can create an account, as long as they have somewhere to put Google's ads. You could even do it to your facebook account if you were so bold. It's just code...not a right of passage. That's the partnership program.

I did not say becoming a partner and monetizing your videos were the same.

I was saying:

To link Adsense your YouTube account, you can only be asked by YouTube. The only other way is to become a YouTube Partner. If you are successful in being accepted, you are forced to link your adsense account to YouTube.

I just got my monetizing invitation today! A good step in the right direction.
So it took 4 months for me.

Edit:
it's weird, youtube insight is now really glitchy, leaving out info until I refresh 10 times, not loading pages I click, etc. I did notice that I now have a hotspot info thing on the insight page, I'd never seen that before, but that might just be me, not noticing it.
Also, the revenue page on google is not working... just my luck.
