How is your CPM/RPM earnings this year vs previous year?

Yes, I understand that.

There was a CPM dip early in the year, but from beginning of October it regained the loss and has been steady/same as last year at the same time.

It generally is higher nearing the end of the year.

When I said my earnings were increasing, I meant it was keeping pace with my video uploads - indicating that the CPM was pretty constant overall.

I probably won't ever reach the $100 mark to warrant a payout... so I don't really track my CPM.

I do like to check periodically to see how many pennies I've earned... but that's about it.

We all start from nothing, so there's only up, keep at it :)

CPM is heavily influenced by what subject ads are running on your videos.

My channel is for how to do it people, so if they run tools/handyman ads on my videos, the click rate goes whoooosh.

If they run non topic ads, the CPM does worse.

Obviously YT advertisers try to target ads against relevant interest groups.

You are a very naughty person:)

Might be wise to turn it off for a while to see what is happening.

Seriously I doubt Adblock has that much effect overall. People can just as easily click/kill the ad anyway.

Adblock is not all bad. If you have a low power PC/laptop or wifi link and you want to reduce load on the unit it helps.

Hey.. adblock is offered by chrome.. which is google's browser. No shame in my game

I have Adblock on the 20 year old laptop I'm currently writing this reply on.

It's so low powered I have to run Linux Lubuntu and use Adblock to keep things moving :)

But my main PC is the real deal, and I monitor the ads to see how it's all going.

Have a look at your ads to see what's happening.

Cheers

Rob

i heard adblock now has a function to unblock ads on people you're subbed to on youtube. If so, thats a cool idea to still support the people you want

Interesting.

But I wonder how many subscribers really "support" a channel.

I run the following paragraph in my welcome page description:

"Support free YouTube content - turn off Adblock."

Maybe it will make some viewers more aware of how tenuous free YT is becoming regarding pay to view.

I was actually thinking to make intro with something similiar, just to raise awarness about whole adblock problem on Youtube.
