How important is Branding and Design?

I started Posting video in youtube like 2 months ago and views are not more than 50 in total is 200. I work hard to make video. I want youtube as my career. I am advertising my channel in facebook as well. But old youtube are more valuable than new youtubers. So they have brand. People are not interested in new peoples video. Branding does matter but it will take more than 2 years to get 100k views in total for new member.
 
In the words of one of my favorite designers, if your making a website you need to Make it look the part because say you have something wrong with your website if the website isn't awful looking the person may never find the glitch, or if it works perfectly the user might be disgusted and find it unprofessional when it vary well may be. Now this brings the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" to a whole new meaning. This only applies to people who can see past the ui flaws.

Final input, I would say Get a solid, unique, smooth, design that goes along with your whole channel Then advertise as much as you can. Without advertise there is no reason for your graphics, your graphics are like the eye candy for people to stay.
 
In my opinion its incredibly important. You want your channel to catch people's eye, especially when you're just starting out. It is what makes your channel stick out from the other thousand channels doing something similar. Best of luck friend!
 
In my opinion there are 3 important parts of a channel.

Content
Community
Consistent and Correct Branding (Design work)

The three Cs as I like to refer to them as are generally of the same importance as each other. Community can't exist without content, Content dies out without community, and without proper Design everything generally looks like crap and no one will want to watch it anyway...
