How important is an intro for a gaming channel?

I dislike intros. If anything have an outro. Those are nice to have you can link people to other videos or your social networks.

I never used one when I was making videos, like mentioned earlier they get pretty annoying and repetitive after a while. Just have a quick and catchy phrase for your intro and that'll do. ;)

I don't like 'professional' intros for letsplay channels. If your channel is for game advice, walkthroughs, and guides an intro will make it more official.

I have a gaming lets play channel and I do what most big gaming youtubers do like PewDiePie. Just greet your viewer, state your name, and say what game you're playing. All of that in a few seconds. I think it gives a good human quality to your content.

If you're doing letsplays the viewer first comes for the game a returning viewer is coming for YOU so you'd want to illustrate yourself to the best of your ability.

I find making the intro and outro are tedious because I have to record it separately, but in the end you get what you put into it!

personally i consider intros a waste of time :/ outros r way more important coz u can redirect ppl to other videos of yours ( if they stay and watch that far XD ) and leave a good impression at the end of a video in general.

If you do it right, an intro looks cool and clean, and makes it feel a little bit more professional, but if you screw up, even a tiny bit it looks bad and is annoying... I think that the way that the yogscast do it is bang on :) Just the floating text of the series title and a couple seconds of music. :)
