How I managed to pickup subs using Instagram

Where I get hundreds of views from Reddit, I get very little if any subs from it. Over the past month I picked up about 20% more subs and I'm attributing most of it to Instagram. First, in my bio I made sure to put in that I make free baking tutorials on Youtube and have the link to my channel.

Then I search the common hashtags for my channels theme - #baking #dessert #dessertporn, #cakes, #cookies etc. If you use a general hashtag such as #instagood or #photooftheday you might get subs but they won't be good quality subs so pick something specific to your theme. I go down the list of pictures and just like them all. Liking someone's photo is not spamming and they appreciate it. They usually go back to my Instagram page and like my pictures, follow me, and many of them have subbed to my channel.

The only downside is that I have to do this often and it does get tedious but if I'm not doing anything better I find this more productive than staring at my analytics.

Interesting, i'd like to use Instagram to promote my channel.
I have 2 instagram accounts with ~11k followers and ~4.7k but i'm a bit scared to change the url in my bio because i read somewhere that some people got banned after changing it.

It's so easy to get banned on instagram, i don't want to take the risk.
