How good is the Blue Yeti?

I own a Blue Yeti with the Blue pop-filter mounted on it and it goes beyond satisfaction. It records my voice exactly the way I hear it when I talk. It's a bit sensitive so it records a few background noises as well (like the sound of your computer's fan if the mic is close to it for example), but it can be easily removed with Audacity.

The Blue Yeti looks nice, I want to get one, right now I have a Audio Techica AT-2020, it's nice, but a hair echoey.

If it's an echo that is the problem, that's your room, not the mic.

The further away from the mic you are, the lower the input volume of your voice on the diaphragm. This makes audible echo from the walls and objects of an untreated room more noticable. And of course because the speed of sound isn't all that quick, you end up with a very slight delay between your voice hitting and the echo of your voice hitting which hurts the recording.

Solution: Get closer to the mic. Put it about a hand width away from your mouth distancewise and then move it to the side by your cheek (This helps control vocal pops without the need for a pop filter).

The AT2020 is superior IMO to the Yeti.

Since all of you were kind enough to help me out, I figured I would post all of the general information I gathered from this thread in addition to my own research. These are the microphones that seem to be top tier USB microphones. I don't know much of anything about non-USB microphones.

Audio-Technica AT2020
Blue Yeti
Rode Podcaster
Shure SM7B (This microphone is an XLR mic, not a USB)

I will most likely be choosing one of these microphones. I currently use a Logitech G930 headset (it isn't too bad), but it getting worse in the form of disconnecting at random times which is rather annoying, and I could use a little audio quality increase.

Thank you all for contributing your opinions and knowledge on microphones. This thread has certainly helped me, and it will probably help others. As always, feel free to share any more knowledge you have since I'm sure I or someone around here will benefit from it, especially if it is about one of the microphones I've listed above.

The SM7B is an XLR mic. I just threw it into the mix to be an a**. It's not cheap. :p

I also don't recall the Apex having a USB version. The 415 was the mic I used before I bought the SM7B.

This is what happens when you post at 4 am. I meant to mention that the Shure SM7B wasn't USB. I wasn't aware of the Apex 415 not being a USB though.
