How Effective is Tumblr?

I've Got It
Hey guys. I've been messing around with Twitter and Instagram to promote my Youtube, and I found that Twitter is reasonable effective while IG doesn't draw many views (probably because I have a gaming channel).

I'm contemplating Tumblr, but it would be a lot of work to keep updated. Does anyone have experience in Tumblr? How effective is it for Youtubers?

I'm not famous yet, so it must not be working. jk. I think it's more like Reddit, where fans of yours form communities and share your stuff. But it also is A LOT like Twitter, so it could help. I've shared stuff to it, but Ive seen no returns. Im actually seeing basically no returns for anything. Kinda worrying, so I need a place to at least get my foot in the door (ps, anything with any real amount of views used Google Adwords, which yields little in the way of interaction besides views).

Sigh, I'm going to have to try it out I guess...

For me, not very effective but to be fair, my level of activity got less & less over time. When I was very active on it, I notice a bit more interaction with the videos I posted, not so much if at all now days.

I've never heard of using Tumblr to share YouTube before. I've heard of people that are big on Tumblr though coming over to YouTube and bringing their audience there or vice versa. Not sure how helpful it is when starting out on YouTube and sharing on there.

I use Tumblr and find limited success with it. I have about 100 followers there, and none are get very involved with what I post. If you tag your posts well so that they show up when people search related content, however, you might get some extra views. It's a little hit or miss, but I do it anyways :)
