How does one Promote their youtube channel?

Like what i mean is what and how can i use different places to promote my youtube channel, I have twitter but I'm not sure on how to use it, Reddit just blew my brains up so i left it and I've only just come onto Yttalk so i haven't started doing that yet..

So my question is, how do i promote a channel and what can i use, and what are the do's and don'ts?

DO's - Promote in various facebook groups relevant to your YouTube Channel
- Promote on here, (In the correct section!)
- Twitter
- Facebook
-Other Social Media you are on.


DONT's - Promote on other youtubers videos, spam, sub for sub.

I would check out some of the guides on this forum, they can help you out a lot

I usually share my videos to my Twitter, FB and Google +. Then I post them on this Forum and on few relevant FB and Google+ groups.

honestly if youre doing a game channel, reddit is your best bet!

on youtube itself,but dont go on other videos and start saying ' hey i do nice stuff check me out,sub me etc ' check channels which upload content similar to yours,and start engaging with the community,try to be part of conversations,eventually they will check you out!

Thanks I wasn't planning on spamming videos as i hate people who do it myself

I use some G+ groups and find it really helps, And twitter too, I find it hard to find a group on Facebook though, any recommendations?

I find myself commenting on the same style videos i make way to much, its just a question of people seeing them But i like the idea of finding smaller youtubers
