My question is really more like, how do you get people to read your posts on websites, and what social media websites work best for this? Thank you.
My best luck without harsh comments is Facebook. The key is to get popular Facebook pages to share your stuff, not just you posting to their walls. One of my videos recently got 10k views in 2 days when before that it maybe got 20 per day, and these were mostly from one person posting my video to their wall. I posted one video to Facepunch.com that stirred up a lot of controversy over something stupid, it got me about 3k views I believe. They normally hate self promotion unless your content is good there, so be careful or they will troll-rape you.My question is really more like, how do you get people to read your posts on websites, and what social media websites work best for this? This is the entirety of online promotion in a nutshell. 9Gag, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook pages, Google Plus communities... you will only attract negative attention if you spam or shamelessly self-promote. Unfortunately the phrase "no such thing as bad publicity" does not apply to YouTube.be careful or they will troll-rape you.

I have no idea if this is sarcasm or not, but I'll take it as a complimentOH. MY. GOD. YOU BETTER PREACHHHHHHHHHH. Seriously, this post is like just perfection. Per-fec-tion.

You need to find the right communities. I have a few places on Tumblr and FB that seem to have no trolls. I've been troll raped on Facepunch and Funnyjunk a bunch of times, whether it's my content or other content people didn't like. I p****d off a bunch of Reddit people because I mis-read a sub-reddit's rules... I got a lot of upvotes, but some people were like "dude, the stuff you are posting in here is cute, but it's the exact opposite of what should be in this sub-reddit".... Sad thing was, my videos had the top 3 spots in that sub-reddit until people started complaining, lol. I took them down once I figured out why everyone was p****d.This is the entirety of online promotion in a nutshell. 9Gag, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook pages, Google Plus communities... you will only attract negative attention if you spam or shamelessly self-promote.
