How do You sync audio?

Hey guys!
I seem to have a problem with syncing my audio to my webcam. I use Audacity to record my voice and OBS to record my webcam. Before I begin I count to 3 and the say GO loud to help with the sync in Vegas later on.
Then I open the files in Vegas and sync my webcam with the audio, the problem is that it's only synced in the beginning.. in the end of the video I'm about a second off and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

So, how do you sync your audio? And do you have any good tips to make it easier?

That is what I'm trying to create when saying GO loud. Since I'm doing gaming videos I need to have something to sync in the video as well so I need one of my hands to do that. So I can't clap, unfortunately.
 
You're not doing anything wrong if in the beginning it's synced and in the end it isn't. It happens to me too sometimes, not sure why but if you look at the audio waves and see where/when it unsyncs and work with that( like cut from there and sync again). I would suppose it happens if you're lagging or something, but idk.

Okej, thanks for your answer. Good to know I'm not the only one :) It's not impossible to work with it's just a bit annoying :) Anyway, thanks :)
 
What makes a clap work better than "go loud" is it's short. A quick short spike makes it easier to match the waveforms. Got to see that waveform last night and looked like it will be super easy to sync... I'll know in a day or 2.

I agree. It's not a coincidence if a similar system is (was?) used in the movies as well.
 
Set the audio to record. Snap fingers in front of mic at the same time as you begin the video recording. Cut audio at the snap spike. Perfect sync every time.
