How do you soundproof your room?

I have seen those but they won't work for my application. I will have a filming area (table top) and I will need to capture sounds from the set but not from outside. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

These isolation screens are good for what you seem to need them for. It help the microphone only take in whats in-front but still let's some of the above and below in. The sides and back are isolated though.

If you angle the microphone right this will work fine

You would think that you would isolate the whole area or room in that case. I could be wrong though but if isolating the mic to a specific area would work to only include sounds from that area you I would expect it to work on a larger scale.[DOUBLEPOST=1405721967][/DOUBLEPOST]Im pretty sure @Pentra has sound proofing.

Oh what I have is not sound proofing, it's acoustic foam that stops echos.

Sound Proofing a room fully will not be cheap, and not easy, though they're are some methods which will at-least cut down on background noise.

I want to start using the table in my closet. The clothes in there help to dampen noise, but it is only practical for voice-overs and commentary.

So, when I record I like to get loud and happy. Unfortunately, my family doesn't always enjoy hearing my yelling in my room (and I can't really blame them haha).

My room is uncarpeted so it seems like sound just travels further away around the house. I have found that maybe putting a blanket over my door will somewhat stop it.

How do you guys "soundproof" your recording area so you don't disturb others that may be in your household? I don't have money to invest in acoustic panels, so I am limited to household stuff and cheap items

Coming from someone that knows a bit about audio engineering, If you want to "Sound Proof" Your room so that people outside of the room can't hear you, expect to pay atleast 4000 dollars depending on the size of the room. You gotta understand that to do this you would have to cover your entire room in atleast 8 inches of super dense rockwool with base traps and mount the rock wool on shock proof mounts and add thick soundproof carpeting. Now here is what I suggest. If you are yelling because you feel that the sound being picked up from your mic is not enough then turn up the gain on your microphone and boost the db just a little bit more when editing (remember, dont let your audio clip) If you are yelling just because you like to add the sound of yelling to your videos then I would suggest to learn how to yell quieter. You probably already know how to do this, but if not then google is your friend.
