How do you make your subscribers more active?

My subscribers seem to thumb up my videos but I feel that they are not commenting enough on my videos. How can I make them comment and be more active?
 
It's individual. If something catches their interest. If you find that point where they can really relate to something (Or something similar to this), they will comment.

This is what I usually do - although you cant force them to do anything obviously.
You could always start a debate or something by putting the first comment up and wait for some replies, then continue to respond as and when need be? Once you have the viewers talking to each other you just slowly back away!
 
We offer cookies.. Ok no we just ask them to leave comments send us emails and videos sometimes they do. Sometimes I tell them if they don't leave a comment John will get naked.. Since I made that threat we always have at least one comment.
 
hey there..since your channel is almost as close to what i do on mine, you could ask your viewers at the end of your videos if they would like to request for a specific art tutorial or get them to request for speed arts of their choice. Again youtube is really about building relationships and what you want to do is get involved with other channels similar to yours, enjoy their videos and leave genuine comments..do collaborations just to engage a little bit more in the community. Once you have that going, you will have more people wanting to know you and engage with you on your videos. I started off like that when i had little subbies and till today, i have the same people that i had a year ago still watching and leaving some lovvveeee on my vids. Good luck
