How do you keep your motivation up?

I've been doing YouTube videos for a year now. One of many projects but the most successful in terms of my own personal motivation.

That said, after a full year I'm only sitting at 128 subscribers. I get critical accolades from the people who watch my videos, everything from compliments on my voice and content. Within about 7 days of joining a small gaming network (37K subscribers) I was already a director, and within 2 more weeks had a bi-weekly show on their main hub channel. All due to the perceived quality of videos.

I guess I'm just having a bit of a tricky time staying motivated. So how do you keep yourself motivated? Obviously I enjoy doing it, but that doesn't help get past being frequently told how much people like it but not seeing the metric results to back that up. Maybe my search rank just sucks, I don't know. lol

im motivated because its a way to entertain myself. i started youtube because i was bored and now that i have a little amount of subs that apperetnly also keep comming back to my videos, i just kinda want to keep going. also i want to do stuff with design and editing etc. and what is a better way to practice that than editing your latest commentaries. and when its done... might as well upload it.

I started YouTube to boost self confidence/self esteem. Not only did it do that but it pulled me out of deep depression and gave me a very different outlook on myself and my perspective of being alive.

But yeah, all the support I get is what keeps me motivated too.

I find the good words given do an excellent job for a short while. It's always nice to get compliments from people you don't know.

It's some of the most genuine praise you can get when its outside of your circle of friends and aquaintences.

Yes, the money is certainly a motivator for me as well. It's nice to be making some cash from something that I really enjoy doing. But I would say that now, our fans are our biggest motivators. We have enough people relying on us to post a video every week that it's really hard not to, because we just don't want to let them down.
