How do you guys stay organized?

I have a "video template directory" that I duplicate for each new video. It contains template files and sub-directories for everything I'll need for a new video. I can then go in and edit each of those files. Everytime I find I am making the same edit to something over and over, I'll go back and edit it in the template.

Also, small things like grouping together all the shortcuts to software I use for making a vid in a folder on the desktop. This saves me maybe 30 seconds per piece of software (lol not much) but it adds up when you're using 5-6 of them several times over.

I also have a sort of set routine of tasks. Example, when my video is rendering in WMM, I know that that is when I'm going to do my custom thumbnail and when my vid is uploading to YT, that is when I'll be writing the title, description etc.

For those of you using Google drive and Google documents, I'd be interested in hearing about that - I have no knowledge at all about how they work, the benefits over just working on local files etc? Could you expand a bit?

I use a office writing pad to plan what title, tags and description ect i use for my video's. Simple but it works for me lol.

I make notes on anything that can be written on almost. I have Sticky Notes on my PC to remind me of game releases as I can pre-order tonnes of games at a time and forget which fortunately has reduced for me now days. I have some note thing on my phone which I put notes into and never look at. I then write stuff on a notepad and either keep it in my pocket or leave it on the desk. Otherwise if I get a letter for something due like a bill or car service, I leave it on the desk in an area I can see to remind me to sort it out. Same goes for having to pop down the ATM, I leave my wallet on my mousepad to remind me....I'm really bad at keeping organised but I always find my own little ways to remind me. Usually they work.

Oh man, you people are so organized and disciplined about making videos. I'm terribly disorganized and I basically do videos as and when the mood hits? :( Guess I gotta work harder at it.

As a gaming channel, I don't really have a schedule. Most of the time I record games on Saturday when I don't have any classes. Uploading it when I can.

I do videos whenever I feel like it too. I have no schedule it could be a few days in a row then sometimes 2-5 days apart, but I'm thinking of maybe making it 1 week for a new playthrough I'm working on or daily. If I finish recording and producing, I'll do daily, if not weekly xD. I hear some people say consistency is best but then some say it doesn't matter. I've heard of some people quitting youtube and people still sub to their channels.

Normally, If I have an idea for a Video I would put the topic on a notepad on my phone seeming I take my phone everywhere with me. In terms of editing videos I'm very OCD with it and will edit it in one session until its finished, which isn't organised but its how I work lol, after I upload it on to YouTube under Unlisted so its ready to go out when ever I choose, Hope this helps.

So what do you guys do to stay organized with your channels? Do you keep a notebook? Remember it all? Something on your phone? What? I like to be organized and I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep notes, agendas etc. haha

I have a huge pink notebook which I write down all my ideas in! :)

I use OneNote. I love it.

I use it for everything I do and I do a lot! I have pages and tabs for everything from crafts to recipes to notes for classes to Youtube to what movies I want to watch, to to-lists, etc.

It syncs online so I can access it from browser at live.com or from my my program or from my iPhone or iPad.
