How do YOU get yourself out there?

I hand out business cards. They pretty much say "Hey if you're bored and/or totally busy, I know just the channel for you." And then I have my link. So far it's gotten my channel on two police reports and the local news. Maybe I should've chose to hand them out to my friends as opposed to random easily frightened strangers.

But, hey, "Crazy guy with business cards" is as good a claim to fame as any.

Well, with two police reports, being on the local news, and the frightened strangers you gave your card to, I'd say, you've hit success! Lol :)

But your friends, although, good people I'm sure, wouldn't have got you on the news, it was those random, startled strangers, that got you the spot on your local news. :)

Lol, I have to agree with you on that! :)

Gotcha, yeah, I'm sure twitter has helped hasn't it? The Facebook group thing is a good idea! :)

How would you say your experience being in the Facebook YouTube group has been?

It actually has! :) Pretty good I suppose, I recently start posting there and stuff but it's a group dedicated to South African youtubers so the chances of people watching are better because there's not that many people in the group.
 
Ooooh okay, I would think that it being a small group would be less affective, but I do see your point, you're pretty much saying, it's good that it's a small group, because then you video/videos don't get flushed out by dozens and dozens of other videos right? So, it kind of stands out, and grabs attention. :)
 
Join lots of social media sites such a facebook, twitter, google plus, tumblr, and instagram (if you haven't already) and post all you videos there as well. Also post you videos on category specific sites, ex if you do gaming videos then post them on machinima or something as well as youtube. Join a few forums relevant to whatever it is you make videos on, be active on that forum, post videos there, and add your channel to you signature if the forum allows. And lastly like the others said keep making new videos, but keep improving them each time NEVER stop improving and just be patient.

So basically, yeah any and every social media site right? The only thing is, my "audience" isn't big yet, do I'm not sure if u should create all that yet. I'm not sure. And yeah, the forums, did those help you a lot? Oh yeah, I'll definitely keep making new videos :) yeah, patience is the tedious part lol, luckily I'm a pretty patient person, cause yeah, that part is the part that I think really comes in.
 
Social media. Make a twitter (super helpful), instagram (not as helpful), and a fb (pretty much a dead site, but good for communication) to promote your channel. Self promotion can be annoying, but as long as you don't do it in a douchey way, you usually get good response. Twitter has helped me immensely. There's lots of up-and-coming youtubers, and people super obsessed with youtubers on there who love seeing new content. They're also extremely likely to share it with their followers as well, just try to communicate with people and that helps a lot :)[DOUBLEPOST=1404193603,1404193506][/DOUBLEPOST]

CREATE ALL THAT YET. seriously, it sucks to be a follow-back girl on twitter, (which is why I have 2 accounts, one for promoting, one for the real stuff) but if you want to get a lot of traffic fast, it's the best way to.

Okay see, I made a twitter, and instagram. On twitter, I haven't tweeted anything honestly lol. And, I created an instagram too, and I've just posted one "pic" (a screen shot of one of my videos), but I don't have either one linked to my actual channel. In other words, if you go on my channel, there's nothing that says "follow me on twitter/instagram/facebook". But really, it seems twitter has helped you a lot! Maybe I should start sending out some tweets. Lol.

Wow, "super obsessed with youtubers", I like the sound of that, cause then that means there are people looking us up on there! Lol.


Wow, reading back what I said, I almost don't know what I said, "do I'm not sure if u should create all that yet". I meant to say, "So I'm not sure if I should create all that yet". Well, even though I did, but I guess what I meant, was, I'm not sure if I should actually USE all that yet lol. It's kinda just sitting there right now. So, from your personal experience, you feel like you've had a good amount of views from the tweets you send out? :)
