How do you get people to comment on your videos?

I'm having a bit of a problem. I got most of my friends to subscribe and some of my videos have a small number of views, however there are barely any comments and a few likes on some of them.

How do you get people to engage more and comment?

I always ask for viewers to let me know something specific in the comment section. It usually works well.

Also, put a comment in there yourself so people can reply to it!

call to action. You'll see in the outro for channels that have a lot of subscribers that the tuber simply asks for a comment, like, share, subscribe, whatever it is they want you to do. It sounds silly to ask someone to do something that you trust they will do if they feel inclined to, but it works.

Thanks for the tip! It's highly appreciated. Currently I only have an intro which just tells them to subscribe, but I'll work on a outro too!

I ask them to comment about something relevant to my video,

e.g. I made a cooking video, so I asked them to comment what I should cook next. I made a video about things to do when you are bored, so I asked them what stuff they do when they are bored.

But my channel isn't big, so I don't get many comments, but when I do, they are nice
