How do you get over 'dislikes'

I just watched your video and a few things came to mind while watching it.

It was very long for a one person commentary, notice how many videos aren't over 8 minutes any more from bigger youtubers.

Also I got annoyed at how many times you said Adrian Neville in the first 4 minutes, but that's just me.

You also sounded quite far away so in your next vid you could go closer to the mic maybe?

Not trying to sound like a d**k but I think these will help you in creating your next videos
True, yeah the first video i did was getting used to my elgato and stuff like that, but most of my new episodes that arnt out yet are clearer and easier to understand and i dont say the guys name as much :P Was basically testing out the elgato in the first video and 2nd, but i think after that they get better and more enjoyable to watch. (However most WWE youtubers tend to play the whole matches so around my kinda video length is sort of ok.

Dont really know any more ways i can promote myself though which is a shame :(
Patience is a virtue. :pompus:

^ I would personally ignore this comment. This guy probably just watches YouTubers who average 8 minute videos, but there are also a ton of YouTubers who average more than 8-10+ minutes.
Of course it isn't normal to review someone else personal review, but I don't think this should be considered if you're trying to take tips, Ben. I watch bigger YouTubers all the time with millions of subscribers that average 10-15+ minutes per video and easily overpower likes with dislikes. I think the solo commentaries that happen to be over 8 minutes will be fine, as long as you can get in some enthusiasm, enjoyable content, decent mic., etc.

*NOTE* I have not watched all three videos all the way through, I cannot confirm your audio quality and content and all that. I am just speaking in general on a viewers standpoint.

...but to be absolutely fair Reddit is a real meanie when it comes to self-promotion. :p

I don't browse much around Reddit, actually none at all. I never hear nice things from there though XD Don't let the dislikes stop you! :up2:

Well if you promote yourself on Reddit you will get dislikes.. Reddit is a place for trolls and haters they are just waiting to pounce on something and dislike it. As far as how to get over the dislike.. just remember it counts as a view and it engaged them enough to click the button. I still wish YouTube would make it so that if you like or dislike a video you have to leave a comment.

I agree with you Ken actually, it would be good to see what they comment etc too with the like button, As far as Reddit, i think that is the only source where I can promote my channel.

I know Reddit is a double edged sword.. You get views but it brings over some nastiness. Don't let them get you down man. Keep going and plugging along.. I like to think that the people who dislike my videos don't even have the creativity or the motivation to attempt to do what we do. They live in a hole and just come out to curse the sunshine.

I agree, well i am actually really getting into my episodes where on youtube people say only play what you love and that is what im doing, im really enjoying recording commentary, so forth i have around 10 episodes to upload that have been rendered and ready to go. I guess ill just use this site and possibly similar facebook groups what i am in to promote myself, as thats what i did before and it worked on my previous channel.

I kinda agree with this guy! Like Reddit can be a really good source for potential viewers, but on the other hand the majority of places like Reddit and even the forums are just trolls or people who aren't actually interested so you will get dislikes. If that makes sense?...

People can be mean, and will dislike your video for the most mundane and pathetic reasons. It's not a reflection of your video making abilities, just a reflection of their poor attitudes. I enjoyed your video and left a like. All the best.
