A good way to turn your subscribers into loyal fans is to make them feel special. Take the time to actually answer comments, and maybe even go above and beyond and ask them a question. Even better is to check if they have some videos of their own and then watch one and give them a sincere compliment back. It will be so unexpected. They are already subscribed to you so they already admire you, for you to check out their channel and say something positive about them will just take them completely by surprise.
Think how you would feel if a YouTuber you're subscribed to went and checked out one of your videos and said some sincere compliment about it. You would be elated. Do this and you will stick out in their mind above all the other stuff they are subscribed to.
Many YouTubers pick a time and do "batch replies," that is they set aside a half hour to go and reply to all their comments all in one sitting. Even if you can't get all of them, making it a priority to at least spend half an hour a week responding to comments will do wonders for your relationship with your subscribers.
