How do you find voice actors?

I thought about doing that but recording that much dialog over the internet would be a major challenge since I can't have the real time interaction and feedback that you get from being there in person. I can't really do Skype or Google hangouts because my internet isn't all that great. But that might work for some random characters that just have a couple of lines.

AHHH I gotcha lol. Well speaking from experience, I've been in a few of what we call "Full Fandubs" and that's just like a full length voiceover of a movie. And it IS possible to do something like that even for a lead. But yeah if you're dead set on finding someone local, I would recommend something similar to symphonious' post about flyers lol.

Ohhhhhh so you want to find someone LOCAL then. Yeah I got no clue. Flyers?

Yeah. Well at least for the main characters it'd have to be local. I don't know if the flyer thing would be a good idea because I live in a very rural area. Maybe I could just have some people do more characters and apply some effects/voice modulation so the voices don't sound the same? Matt Stone and Trey Parker do most of the voices on South Park so I know it's possible... I might post a thread in the collaboration & meetups section if I still need voices for some minor characters.

Is your avatar that kid from Boondocks? Its weird cause it looks like him but then he's got a magical scepter and a cape and this confuses me.
That's who his hair is modeled after yea. lol Face line of naruto, Hair of Huey Freeman, Generic anime eyes simple hoodie cape and staff. WIZARD! lol cool that you noticed.

If you want local, try putting an ad on craigslist.org, or maybe put up flyers :) Another idea is go to a local theatre (not movie theatre, the kind where people act :P) and ask some actors if they would be up for some voice acting :)

Possibly connect with a local talent agency. Some are happy for there unknowns to do work for free for the experience. Otherwise as mentioned above the local theater is a great place to look.
However if you do get stuck
I know you mentioned that your internet may not have crash hot but working with someone online isn't that hard if the person recording has the right equipment. Even if you don't use video streaming you can still stream audio and provide feedback as the person is recording.
I have done a few recordings with for people interstate. I usually just give a feed out of my mixer so the person can listen in, the same time I record the Voice over. Once the session is done I usually send the raw audio files.
