How do you find new youtubers?

I was curious, how do you find a new youtuber you've never heard about on youtube ? and by find I mean hear of or find a video so that you may listen to new content. I also wanted to know if you go out of your way to look for new youtubers to watch or you're satisfied with those you already follow.
 
Sometimes I will go out of my way to find new youtubers but its mostly who people collab with. I've found youtubers on twitter and then I look at their channel which is like a domino effect of how I find them and others. I found Zach Garry (A Comedy Vlogger) through ashely mardell who I found first through a social website but then realized who she was through arielleishamming and I don't even remember where I found ariel. Interesting how this happens.

I've got over 20 subs from searching new content and commenting on videos. I basically search a topic I like and then click on Last Hour in the filter section. Chances are you'll be the first commenter and then the first one they remember.
 
Forums, collabs, social media or random clicking to pretty much sum it all up. I've been following more and more people lately :)
 
well here is a great place to find new youtubers.

also you can find new youtubers by searching what kind of videos you want to see and then you will see a list of videos and then you check their channel to see how new they are.
 
I generally search for content that I'm looking for and go through the videos filtered by upload date.

If the video has a good thumbnail, I'll watch it no matter how many views it has. If it has no custom thumbnail, I'll skip right over it.

I've found some good channels this way.
 
I used to have this addiction where I would invite every single YouTuber as friend, since YouTube stopped with the old inbox\contacts thing, I don't really do that anymore. I also feel like I wasted 4 years of my life lol
Okay not really but this actually made me find new YouTubers and I really made new friends with this.
I wish YouTube would return the friends option and even make it possible to invite people from their profiles.

Hahah funny coincidence, that's how I found Zach Garry as well. I found Ashely's channel in Fullscreen's "yearbook"
 
Sometimes I'll go out of my way to look for newer channels, other times I'll take a look at people who comment on my videos channels and find some really interesting people. I also happen to do channel reviews in my spare time so I get requests to do them and run into lots of unknown channel which is always cool :D especially if I find really good ones.
