How do you feel about gimmicks?

Just thought I'd get some insight from you guys surrounding the topic of "gimmicks". What I mean is, do you feel like certain things have kept you coming back from a youtuber, such as the face cams, their attitude, or even something like appearance? I know a lot of people on Twitch that think beards and stuff like that can even help viewer count.

Thoughts? Anything specifically that makes you turn off a video?

You know what makes me not want to watch YouTubers? When they spam or just generally act like a douchebag. It's like, I'll be sitting here looking at comments, and there's always that one guy that says something like,

"OH, HEY GUYS. THIS YOUTUBER INSPIRES ME SO MUCH, I MADE A CHANNEL BECAUSE OF HIM (or her) YOU GUYS SHOULD CHECK IT OUT AND SUBSCRIBE, BECAUSE MY CONTENT IS AMAZING AND f*****g AWESOME! ANYWAYS, THIS ISN'T SPAM. K THNKS BAI!"

It just pisses me off because they're just pulling s**t out of their a**. I'm fairly sure they use alternate accounts, bots or something, since they always seem to get like 40 or so likes.

yea, some people have annoying names for their viewers, some have annoying catch phrases or sound effects that turn me off. I don't generally watch Youtube anyways though, I really only pay attention & subscribe to the people I become friends with on this forum because I get to know their opinions and can see who they are beyond their shows.

Yeah this interested me aswell, I wasn't sure how popular that method was. I always felt as though advertising on other peoples videos was generally looked down on, am I wrong?

It is, but for some reason a handful of people get praise for it. Like Josh A, Press Fart to Continue, etc.
