How Do You Do It?

Now I like my videos thus far for the most part and I'm having fun with my channel, but how do you stop yourself from obsessing over the numbers? I feel so discouraged every time I post a video because I don't see the numbers. I know it takes time to grow and all, but how do you handle to pressure and worry numbers start to create?

I know exactly how you feel being a small channel after all you do tend to worry about it. However, think of it this way why do the numbers really matter? If you truly enjoy what you're doing then with time people will gravitate towards that. Sure you may not have thousands upon thousands of views but that doesn't mean you aren't producing quality videos. Count each view as an accomplishment. That's someone who took time out of their day to view your specific video. Now that....that's pretty damn cool. Sorry for the language. :) Hope that helped.

Yeah I guess it's just a process of realizing how amazing each view is. I'm definitely finding it to be a challenge, which I guess it's good since my first video was claiming to want to challenge myself.

The best advice I can offer you is to remember why you started making videos. And remember that the numbers aren't the reason why you create the videos you create. It's a form of expressing yourself and finding like minded individuals. Hope that helps!

There you go. But don't let the challenge take you over. Just have fun with it. That's all you really can do. If you wake up each day and enjoy and want to make videos I think you are in the right track. Hope your channel the greatest success. :)

Thanks. It helps just to hear someone else say that it's for fun and to stop worrying. Repeating it to myself just isn't working. I think the problem is I'm still having trouble actually communicating with any like minded people. I wanna keep going though, it's just hard to stay motivated[DOUBLEPOST=1393654053,1393653998][/DOUBLEPOST]

I wanted to give up too a while back. I found a video that motivated me to keep on going. It's rough sometimes putting yourself out there and not seeing any results. The thing is to believe in yourself and always look forward to a better day tomorrow.

I think it really helps to forget the numbers if you find like-minded people in similar situations to hang with. I got re-motivated when I started hanging with a fellow Youtuber. We both were trying to "get big" and uploaded similar content. We started bouncing ideas off of one another and helping each other out. Then it became fun again. I think having someone else go through your journey with you helps. Keep posting in these forums, you may find someone here lol. I hope my advice helps you. Good luck with your channel!

well while historically crying in the bathtub contemplating drowning my gold fish in a plastic cup, i go over all my accomplishments, so....distractions.

I didn't watch your videos, so I'm not making a personal condemnation, but people subscribe to entertaining content. If they can find it (*cough Relevant topics and good SEO) they will enjoy it if it's good. The vast majority of people who complain about not getting anywhere have downright boring content. I was watching some old videos of mine today and they were downright horrendous - no wonder I got nowhere.
