How do you choose which comments to reply to?

At the moment, each of my videos gets around 25-30 comments. I can deal with that. I reply to them all, without fail, even if they're saying not a lot.

However, when I look at some of my inspirations and their channels, each video might have 300-400 comments. Some of them don't reply to ANY, which I think is a little uncalled for. I'd like to think I'd reply to as many as possible if I ever got that big.

So - how do you pick and choose? Is it simply a random chance selection, or do you read them ALL looking for a well-written comment or question?

I'm already sad about the day I won't have time to reply to all comments, but that day will also be the day I know I've done well on YouTube I guess...

Most people that are huge numbers have people help them with that as well as their social media. I think it kind of sucks, like when a really big youtuber i was a fan of replied to my comment. At first i was really excited, then i looked back at the time and they were doing a livestream event and there was no way it could have been them. I mean if you are going to have other people manage your accounts, at least have them put their initials or something so you know it's not the actual person.
My youtube channel is kind of a group thing, though i do 90% of the work a few friends chip in. I personally comment on all social media or youtube comments and if i don't then one of my friends do (using their own name).
Unless you have some massive library, i don't see why you wouldn't reply to the comments...it really means a lot to them and it only takes 10-20 mins a day.

There's going to be a point in your channel's lifetime where replying to every comment will be damn near impossible. One piece of advice I'll offer is to take a look at some of the longer written comments left on your videos, those tend to show that the person watching took the time to write something out about what they thought. If someone leaves "good job: or "nice video" I'll just leave a "thanks!" comment in return. If people are willing to put thought into their comment I should return the favor.

Right now, my comments are low enough that I can reply to all of them. If I ever get so big that that isn't the case, I'll try to maintain some sort of interaction with people in the comments, even if I can't get to every single one of them.

Its kinda hard to reply to everyone once you get a whole ton like 300 and over maybe if they reply to someone then the other person might get upset they didn't get a response. But I also try to answer everyone's comment usually the sub for sub comments I just try to not respond to, if i had to say which I wouldnt.

I comment on all my comments, I mean the max amount I ever get is like 10 so it isn't that hard but I will always try to reply to every comment. If they've decided to say something about my video I feel I'm obliged to reply back if there is something to comment on haha!

Well if there is a question, that a lot of people ask and are interesting to know, rather than replying to everyone answering it I address it in a video (QnA for example).

I guess everyone reaches that point where you can't reply to everyone. You can't really put a pin in the things you should reply to, because if I read that comment and have an answer, I will reply. That can be anything, from a good hearted message, a question or something funny. If someone just writes ''lel'' you don't really know what to say :D
