I don't think swear words really affect it as much; depending on the context, personality of the person, content itself, and the target audience. Now if the swearing is excessive (like every sentence or so or every few words), then not only does it water down the content itself, but also sound bad in general.
(Not trying to promote other channels but just for an example)
Not all swearing is bad however, and here is an outlier for example:
Nightmarerh uses a lot of swears, but he is pretty big on YouTube. Why might you ask? Well his target audience is mainly young immature, rebellious kids (pre-teens and teens mostly), his swearing fits his personality and who he is in his videos, and the context of some of it (though very inappropriate at times) can be found humorous.
Not trying to bash him, since I do find some of his videos informative, interesting, looking past the swearing and inappropriate innuendos.
