How do annotations help?

Chloe

I Love YTtalk
I just put annotions on some of my most popular videos and linked to another video :) do they actually do any good? how do they help you?

You can always check your analytics to see your annotations' performance (clicks/closes). I use them on all of my videos and I find them helpful. :)

You can use them to keep your audience by linking them from one video to another.
Or you can use them for asking them to subscribe and a few other things.
Like the other poster said, you can track how well they are doing in the analytics - however I think most people just close the annotations

Well, if you have a good outro with other videos in it, the motivation from the music in the outro might make them want to click another video, but not if it is un-clickable. And they don't hurt!

It depends on how you use them, theres many ways of using them, be creative with them :) I use them to link out to our YTtalkTV presenters channels throughout the videos they make as a way of giving them credit for the videos they do. I used to also have a subscribe annotation on every video in the top right corner. The success depends on their implementation and your audience, the better theyre implemented the higher the click through rate will be.

That is good. I also put annotations on my most popular video's and it works pretty good. You see i put them most at the end of my video's with text like: ''Don't forget to subscribe if you like the video'', ''Thanks for watching!'' or ''Please like''

When people really like the video they usually sub and maybe even share the video's! Annotations are really good, helped me with getting subs:)

I put them in my popular videos and with the x factor auditions vlog I made I put the annotion linked with a video of me singing :)
