How did you find your audience?

I do many different kinds of videos, like vlogs and covers and tags, but I can't seem to find a place I belong because my channel is just too random. Any tips/advice? (:
 
Well don't take this for granted but what worked for me was posting 1 certain type of videos (actually that's not even true, I switched to solo acoustic guitar in last June - best decision of my life so far :P), so doing different kind of videos might not work but then again, everyone is different, maybe you could pull it off. :) I also have a lot of feedback from my audience that they like how I reply to every comment I get (well it's getting harder and harder as my channel grows but I still try my best) and also that I provide something that nearly no other guitarists do on YouTube (which is free tabs/sheet music). Plus the fact that I obviously have a unique style (everybody does) and it shows well in my content. I don't know, these are just a few random thoughts, maybe you can adapt something into your channel. :)
 
Mine was hidden under a rock behind a boulder next to a hollow tree.
they were just sitting there with nothing to do
so I gave them a lap top, showed them new
They Hollered and jumped at all they did see

The internet the power and all the wonder
My show a was the first for them to see
They were excited to know what they could be
Then I flew away like the sound of thunder...

Ok enough of that.
 
you dont find your audience ;) your audience finds you... (not but on a serious note, we found ours via posting on google+ and attending gaming events irl and offline :) they just accumulate before you know it really. give it time)

I agree with Peter. Why not be a specialist in 1 area? Then as your audience grows, break off into other areas as your audience becomes loyal. Becoming great at 1 thing instead of being average in multiple areas is the way to go. Thats how Im building my channel and I still have yet to break off into other areas, I just dont see the point.

Also, if that 1 area you choose doesnt seem to be growing an audience, change it up!
