How can I stop this background traffic sounds?

I live in a very busy colony.So its really tough for me to get my mic to catch only my voice.There is a lot of background traffic sound in my recordings as the main road is just beside my home.I cant remove these background sounds completely.So struggling with the audio quality.So I would like to know if you guys have any ideas to stop the mic from catching the background traffic.

Try this.. Get some Egg Crates or a matress to put over the windows.. this should deaden the sound some what..

So put our two suggestions together and you should be almost noise free.. cover the windows with a mattress when recording and then use Audacity...

That will also stop the back ground noise...

So
1. Mattress in front of the window
2. Use Audacity
3. Move it here.

I have used audacity for a while now.But noise removal reduces all other background sounds.But the traffic sound is not removed.
