How Can I Improve?

Add at least some scales, or a different coloured underbelly. Take a look at some cartoony lizards for inspiration.

Also make the outline a little thicker - I like that you've added some variation to the line's thickness, that's good and should stay. But the minimum should really be what you're currently using as your thickest, maybe a point or two less but no more. Cartoons have a very bold outline, and I'd emphasise it a bit more.

Finally, make it either one flat colour or work on the shading a little - it's fine as it is, but the placement could be tweaked, and definitely needs adding to the arms.

All in all I like it, but if it were me that's how I'd alter it to suit my personal tastes.

Thanks for the advice :)

I spent ~45mins today drawing and colouring in a lizard :p to try and improve my cartoon skills.

But it`s obviously not perfect :p What do you think is missing / needs improving?

The lizards body is very plain, they have texture to their skin. Having more details on his hands would be nice, as well as more in depth shading.
