How are you different?

I agree with others with being yourself. I have my own awesome personality that nobody else could possibly have because its too awesome for its own awesomeness.

I'm being me. Everybody is unique. So what I present to YouTube will naturally be different from everything else that's around. Also since I'm a Vlogger, I am sharing my unique opinion on YouTube. There can only be one me. Whether people like my stuff or not is their prerogative. I guess you could say we're "One of a kind". XD

So I ask: what will you do to be different?

This probably bites me in the butt ,but I play all different kinds of games not just a single genre, I'm not just minecraft, or just CoD or horror games. I play everything (except sport games because I personally do not enjoy them). Combine that with the fact that I'm a chunkey panda and thats where I'm different, my commentary is what makes my LPs different. :D

I'm going to be very open with my viewers and let them see me for me. I will be 100% myself and let my personality and creativity shine through as I make unique and interesting twists to gaming series.

That's a very good question, and something I've been asking myself for a while too but as of now I can't answer it. I think it's hard to answer at the beginning, but the more videos you make, the more you become your own unique personality and branch off from there. So as of yet I don't know how I'm different, but hopefully eventually it'll come to me haha.

I guess compared to most people on YTTALK I am unique as the majority of channel types on here are gamers and vloggers, while I am a GoPro channel who does edits and tutorials so that kind of makes me unique. But then again there are hundreds of other channels who also do GoPro tutorials and edits which are very similar to mine but I guess the audience is a bit smaller than that of gaming. In a way it is hard to be unique with so many channels but I think it is the small things that make your channel unique.

You can still be yourself and still fall through the cracks. I think its a matter of strategy and hard work. You gotta be yourself to begin with else it all would be hollow. Good question Rob.

With under 1000 subscribers, I'm still learning on Youtube, but I've been performing magic and comedy around the country for years, so I've got some entertainment experience to draw from. I want to pose this question and offer a bit of advice. How are you being different? I've noticed a lot of people are asking questions about how to grow their channels, or they want to know why they aren't getting views, subscribers or comments. In some cases, the answer may be just to think more outside the box. Youtube is oversaturated with channels of every sort; gamers, makeup gurus, vloggers, even comedians like me. In the entertainment world, people will generally take notice and want to see more of you if you're doing something different. That doesn't mean if you want to have a gaming/vlog/comedy/etc channel, you can't have one. I would challenge everyone who reads this to think about how you can make your channel and your videos different from what is already out there.

Youtube doesn't need another RWJ or Tosh. They don't need another (insert most popular gaming channels). What they do need are your fresh, original and different ideas. I believe that if you truly strive to make your videos different in a way that they stand out from things that have been done before, you will gain more views and have a more successful channel.

So I ask: what will you do to be different?

Excellent thread, you've made excellent points and I ask myself the same question every single day.
I find it doesn't hurt to check out the competition regularally, if you can mingle with them and bounce new ideas off them you're golden.
Thanks for sharing Rob!

Thanks for your feedback! A different personality is a great start, but I firmly believe that new, different and interesting content is also important in attracting viewers and subscribers to your channel. The goal of this thread was to get people thinking and make them want to challenge themselves. Hopefully I've accomplished this with at least a few here :-)
