How are my thumbnails?

You want to look at my last 5-6 videos, as they are my new thumbnail style for my channel. Are they eye catching? Are they consistent with branding? Are they too cluttered? Are they readable? etc etc. Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

What I try to do with my thumbnails is have a background image of what map I am playing in the visual portion of the video and blur it out to give the foreground a pop out effect. Then, I get an image relevant to the video and mask it and adding a outline glow effect. An example would be if I was playing a zombie game, I would get a zombie from that game, mask, and add my effect. After that I decide to put my font up. If I was playing Prop Hunt on Garry's Mod, I would put Prop Hunt at the top, most likely in orange (unless the background renders it difficult to see), with a shading effect to make it not look so bland, all alongside using the same font that I like for my channel. I use that same font in most of the thumbnail, except where it isn't needed. Such as if I play MW3, I use just a standard font to mimic the MW3 style font that the game was given. I might add an icon or two to either signify the desired game, or the type of video.

Definitely better than some peoples. Try and keep them as simple as possible, but find a good font to use consistently on different series. Go on Dafont.com and have a lookm on there. what software do you use to edit?

I do use the same font. The font is Hobo std. Only certain words I change the font on. Such as MW3 will be the default font so it matches the MW3 style. The editing software I used for making them is Sony Vegas Pro 11.

I think that your thumbnails are good. The two things that I would change is that I would take your name out of the thumbnail and try to keep the text colors the same.

They certainly do the job, not to clustered, readable, no blaring vibrant colours that are distracting.
Nice job!

They are quite nice. They easy to see, they tell you what the video is about and they have a clear presentation factor about them overall I would say they are quite nice :)

I don't always put my name on it. I do on occasion if I feel it requires it. Like my Call of Duty Live Commentaries, at least my most recent one. I have no clue what to put to make it distinctive that it is me yet still clear to to everyone what the video is. I will work on the name with any future Call of Duty Live Commentaries.

With the font color, I find using the same font color extremely bland and "dull". I might try and find a way to make it the same color without it being dull for myself. One reason why I don't stick to one font color is because the background I choose might not agree with it and they blend too much.

Personally i don't like the style where by most of the thumbnail is blurred out. However, with that said they are eye catching and readable, although as Sven The Mountain Gamer mentioned i'd try to keep to one font/colour.
The background being blurred out is to give it a focus effect, make the words and images pop out more with the background being nothing but a background. I could tone down the blur, so people can tell what is going on back there, even though that isn't the key point of it.
