How accessible are your videos?

Hey everyone and happy Wednesday!

So as we all know YouTube is one of the biggest websites on the internet, and it gets traffic from all around the world and different types of people. Because of this, there are lots of people that speak languages other than English, may be hard of hearing, or completely deaf. Have you taken the time to make your videos accessible to these people? If not you're missing out on a huge viewer base! To give you an example, the last few days I've spent my time going through all of my videos and adding closed captioning and subtitles.
Take a look at the results:

So tl;dr Add subtitles and closed captioning to your videos to get more views :D

what did you do exactly? Aren't subtitles already an option on every video?

So you actually put subtitles on your videos, thats good idea, because people can easily catch up with your videos. I just don't know how to use that subtitle option properly otherwise I had already got this spike. :)

That's a great idea! Did you only do English or multiple languages?
 
will give it a try, just added to the latest video on my channel[DOUBLEPOST=1441818433,1441817649][/DOUBLEPOST]just a follow up, i searched my man keyword and it returned 49,500 results, added the CC filter and it returned just 50 results, so in theory this could be a good idea

Automatic subtitles are on yes, but since itss done via software the subtitles can be fairly bad. As well, it doesnt do the closed captioning part. When you add closed captioning, you get neat little icon that shows its cc enabled.

What are you talking about, subtitles are spot on. Turn them on in this, it's like 99% right...

Yours may be, mine definitely werent. And that still doesnt account for closed captioning[DOUBLEPOST=1441825954,1441825916][/DOUBLEPOST]

I do mine in english. YouTube can auto translate it into other languages. I may have them manually translated in the future though[DOUBLEPOST=1441826738][/DOUBLEPOST]To those that may no think this works, the numbers dont lie. for 2 days straight I got an extra 1200 views per day just because of the subtitles and closed captioning
