how do you create your own youtube background??

I personally use Adobe PhotoShop; it's a great piece of software to create neat and professional looking graphics for YouTube and such. (e.g. backgrounds)

I recommend Photoshop or GIMP for making them in, we have a PSD file for Photoshop stickied in the Branding & Channel Design forum which you can use.
