Alright, so i can't afford flipping Sony 13 Pro Vegas Rubbish Thing or whatever it freakin called. Currently I use VideoPad and occasionally Windows Movie Maker but they both take ages to process and save. Like, hours...

Is there anyway i can get Sony Vegas for free or is there an editor as good as Vegas?

What you're thinking of is called "pirating". :P

The only thing I can think of that's free and works is Lightworks, but it has a fairly steep learning curve. (I never learned it properly :/)

With editing software you get what you pay for... I have FCP7 anyway because I edit for work, but it's definitely a sound investment. I also have FCPX that I got earlier, but even iMovie works pretty decently for a basic cut. Generally Apple software is the most intuitive...

Do what I did for almost a year, I downloaded the trial for Adobe After Effects from their website. Once the trial is over, just uninstall and reinstall it. I did that 4 years ago though so I'm not sure if they updated their policy or not. But yeah the trial is the same exact thing as the original, but the program itself takes time to master but it's great!

to be honest, If you're a beginner for editing I'd go with Camtasia, It's a nice editing software that isn't going to cost you 900 dollars like Vegas, If you can't afford it do the 30 day trial and see how you like it!
