Hit my 1st dry patch...

Hazzador

I Love YTtalk
I have been experiencing pretty good growth on my channel so far, but in the last week i hit what people call a 'dry patch'. I have been getting at least 1 sub a day since i started but now, I haven't gained any subs in the last week... I have still been uploading consistently and i'm not sure if im doing anything wrong, its just how things go sometimes. Have any of u guys been through a dry spell, and what do u do to get out of it?

I have and usually its because I haven't been promoting as much as usual because I've been busy or just feeling crappy. A way to get out of it would be to look into other areas to get the word out that you have a channel, get the ball rolling again yourself and soon it will pick up without much more prompting I imagine :)
Also when you get closer to your next milestone, don't forget to tweet about it and encourage people to share your channel :)

Yep I have recently got out of my dry spell
I was stuck on about 650 subscribers for about a month or two, I would gain subs then just lose them again and it was so irritating! But you just gotta push that little bit further to get out of that zone!

My dry spells are mainly self imposed because I don't post enough. But also, I'm not too worried about subscribers yet because I think I'm still trying to find 'my voice'.

Regardless, I do notice busy and slow periods in my subs and views. Mainly because my main topic is about studying at a uni, from a month before registration deadline I get really busy, two weeks after registration my channel gets really quiet, so it's kind of like waves for me.

But since your channel is a gaming channel... has there been any new release (game or otherwise) that your target audience might be watching that's not on your channel? Just a thought.

Like you I was consistently getting 1 sub a day before. Right now I just came out of a really short dry period where I hovered between 104-105 for a few days.

It's okay there will be good and bad days.

I'd only really start worrying if I only get 2 subs in a month. Data gathered over short periods of a few days or even a week won't be enough to tell if something is wrong.

I know what you mean about loosing a sub and then gaining one, it really is annoying! Thanks for the reply :D[DOUBLEPOST=1444567225][/DOUBLEPOST]

I alos get diffrent waves of views and stuff and it depends on so many things ( time of day, game, type of video...) No new realeses that i haven't covered so far, let's hope this dry patch isn't too long![DOUBLEPOST=1444567349][/DOUBLEPOST]

Very good advice dude, if this continues for a long time then there is prob something i'm doing wrong but i shouldn't worry too much about these past few days

Not sure if this is the case, but for the first couple of months a lot of new YouTubers have their friends and family subscribing to the channel and sharing more than they might usually due to the initial excitement. From there it starts taking more effort to gain subscribers.

I got stuck at 121 for like 10 days and was pulling my hair out. I actually ended up taking a day off and just relaxed. When I came back it had taken care of itself :)
