Why would you even want to work for $0.50-$2? Even for a start up? Just do free graphics or up your price if you think you are good and really provide good quality graphics.
Because $0.50 and good quality graphics (as you say because I haven't watched your examplea as of yet, i am on a phone) is an insult to the designing community.

I don't see why it's an insult to the designing community, when you start off you work for cheap to build up a portfolio..

Good quality inexpensive graphics aren't an insult to the community, they are a compliment to the community
