Hiding vs Showing Number of Subscribers?

Does anyone have any insight on hiding subscribers? Do you see more, less, or no change in channel growth when number of subscribers is hidden?
 
I really didn't try have my Subscribers Number hiding because I think it is nice to show the numbers to people, so I am not sure if it has change to keep it hiding or not!!
 
If it's hidden people assume you're hiding a small number. I think they made this option for large companies starting YouTube channels who were embarrassed at their small number of subs.
 
I think I agree. Regardless of the number of subs that viewers see, I think people would be more inclined to subscribe if they can see the subscriber number regardless of how many subs you have. And also those subs are your family. They subbed to you, for you. And no one else. So I think hiding it will dissuade people because they will never know how big (or small) your family is. And last thing I think is if you want to get taken seriously like the big channels, play like them. They don't hide the sub number (obviously cause it's a million+ lol) but still, you wouldn't sub to pewdiepie if you couldn't see that he had 36 mil subs (Well idk but probably not lol) but yeah just my opinion
 
Personally, I am less likely to subscribe to someone who doesn't show their sub and/or views numbers. I'm not even sure why, I just don't like the lack of transparency maybe.
 
Honestly, I'd rather know that people have little subscribers than not being able to see anything. I feel like it opens the user to their audiences(I could also be talking nonsense!:cautious2:)

I think hiding your subscribers could make you get less subscribers though :unsure:
 
I don't see any benefit to hiding subscriber numbers. If anything, I feel like it would put people off subscribing
 
I've always gone back and forth between hiding and showing mine, but I've never seen any difference between the rate of growth. That's why I'm still really unsure of which is best. However, I think by hiding them, people who aren't as familiar with Youtube, think that you have zero subscribers lol
 
I never saw a difference when I had my sub number hidden. So I just proudly show off that 57 number to everybody now :D
