Hiding number of subscribers experiment

I hid my sub-count from around 20 till a 100. Can't say i noticed much of a difference in rate of gaining new subscribers. Some people may be turned away by a low sub-count, but some people may be attracted by it as well. There is something about being with a channel from the start. In general it's much more fun to interact with small channels than with big ones.

I know a lot of people like to hide it until they reach a couple of hundred or like a thousand subs but I've often had subscribers that really enjoy keeping track of the number. They tend to comment anytime I hit somewhat of a milestone and it's just nice knowing that some care enough to not only watch my sub count grow with me but also comment and congratulate me everytime is hits a new height! There's also the added fact that some of my subs remember exactly when they subbed, for example I've had a few very loyal subs who subscribed around the 100 mark and quite often state that they look forward to being able to say that they were there from the start when I "make it".. I think it's not only about numbers, viewers like to see the channel grow just the same way you do :)

This is pretty much ho I feel about it too. I have had subs comment and congratulate me when they notice me reach milestones. I feel so good when they do that :)
On a side note, there are some that will leave mean comments, and follow you to thumbs down each you video you put out, but I have been absolutely amazed by how many kind supportive subscribers leave so many nice comments. I am always amazed by how sweet many youtubers are.

Some dude on Reddit said to me that hiding the sub counter helps to get more subscribers. I'm not so sure about that but I decided to hide it for the whole month.

So after about 2 weeks now I see no results. But I'm going to give it a little bit more time.
 
This study literally looks like a whole universe, there's alot of factors to consider. But in my opinion, if I see someone with a hidden subs, I'll base my judgement on the quality of their videos. If I liked a few videos, I'll sub. :)
