I have a question, well two questions for now

First is there a "FAQ" Thread and where might I look for said thread?

And what does it do when I like a Video on YouTube the people that post always want you to like there video, whats the deal with that?

Hi there, welcome to YTtalk. On top of the page on the right corner, there is a Google search bar.....you can type what you're looking for in there: For instance "How to get views" or "Camera" etc.
With the likes...I always thought they affected your ratings. The more likes you have the better. I could be wrong about that though lol.

Likes help videos in rankings, and also helps spread the word.

Likes and Dislikes (Also known as ratings) help determine where a video ranks in the searches. Generally the more ratings you have, the higher up it will be in search. Though YouTube now looks more on watch time, ratings still play a important role.

When someone likes a video, it then goes to their own channels feed, therefor anyone subscribed to them can see that activity. (If they have their likes public). This will lead to the video being spread out to more people, and possibly bringing in more views, and new subscribers.

Also it makes your videos look better. Seeing a video that has a few thousand likes, looks a lot better than one that has 4 or 5. Even though they are just numbers, it does affect how people see your channel.
