Helping Smaller YouTube Channels

Wow. I just read my original post. You are totally right. I sound cocky! Let me rephrase:

I am more than willing to collaborate with fellow YouTubers, and of course to help both channels grow, but I fear that if I collaborate with a channel with poor quality it may bring the standard of my stuff down, too. Not implying that the stuff on my channel is something special, I am mainly referring to video/audio quality. :)

I think that TechTac ha the perfect solution!

Ahhhhh.... ok I get you now. It was the title that threw me off "collabing with smaller channels?" This made me think you must have over 10k subs, then I see your sub count and I'm like "umm.. you ARE a small channel" LMAO. Ok so you mean that you have people wanting to collab with you alot, but you feel like sometimes their content isn't great.

Here's my advice. Listen to your honest gut. Like... your head can lie to you, there's alot of factors involved, you wanting to be nice, you wanting to not seem like a jerk, you wanting to help out etc etc. Don't listen to any of that, listen to your deepest gut. You know if the idea sounds like something you think would represent you well, and you know if it doesn't. If something is bugging you about the collab? Don't do it. If you feel excited and totally happy about it? Do it.

Don't think about numbers, don't think about camera quality, think outside all of those parameters and think "does this feel like something I'd be proud of?" If so? DO IT!

Don't think you sounded cocky, because I can understand what your wanting to do. The only thing I would say is its possibly difficult to help smaller channels while your small yourself as the viewer base will remain small. Collaborating is a great step for that though.

If it was me, I wouldn't mind who I collaborated with, if they have a bad mic I would just help them to improve it and get it aswell I can. I'd still record with them, as I know I was in that situation before :)

And I

And I just read your comment again.

A channel that has less viewers is, in a literal sense, a smaller channel. You kind of took that out of context! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1370259355,1370259256][/DOUBLEPOST]

Not really took out of context so much as just perceived the wording you used the way it came across.
