Im trying to start out my YouTube channel, because I feel that I can get popular once I join a network, but I have a bunch of my friends disagreeing with me, and sh*ttalking me on YouTube. Like today, I uploaded a video on Call Of Duty, and a bunch of my friends bombarded the comment section and made it a battlefield. What should I do?

You can block the user's that you feel are making it a negative environment or change the setting so you have to approve comments before they are posted to the video's.
However joining a network does nothing for you unless you're willing to do the leg work. They only provide you some better tools, which you have to make use of. Even if you join a network, you are not guaranteed more growth, money or fame compared to if you just stayed with Google AdSense. There is a MCN section on this forum where people review MCN's they have been with, you should read some of those before deciding on even joining an MCN or which MCN is right for you.

If you're starting YT to become popular, you probably should not to be honest.
Ask yourself if you'd be happy making the videos even if nobody sees them, and if you are, then keep going. But to have expectations of grandeur is almost always setting yourself up for disappointment and a feeling that you wasted your time.
As for the issue of your friends, it sounds like you need new friends.

All the popular YouTubers that got millions of subscribers didn't earn it over one night or a week it took them 3 years (or more) to be in the state they're in right now. Tell your "friends" that they don't know s**t and block them from your channel and just keep working hard on it, don't listen to them and put some hard work into your channel.

If you love what you do and have fun doing it ,it'll show in your video's. Stay positive. Growth will happen, be it slow or fast. Remember not to feed the trolls unless that's what your channel is about!

Just enjoy making and uploading your videos, don't let your friends discourage you because if you actual manage to gather a solid following on YouTube there will be more trolls trying to discourage you.

You should create quality content and not upload useless quantity of videos.

Unless you dislike or had less fun with the 10k view video, in which case you wasted your own time more than anything.
