Help with video order (start, middle, end)

I've Got It
Hi guys,
I've recently been looking into layouts and video order to see if that makes a difference to how well youtube videos do. What i would like is for you to have a look at this and see if you agree and if not, how can this be improved upon?

May sound obvious to some but i have only just started to do this.

Splitting up your video into sections.

1. the start, introduce the video with an interesting/relevent opening or describe what to expect to see in the rest of the video.

2. the main feature

3. A 'good bye' and request for subscriptions, likes, comments and links to other videos.

I have videos on my youtube account if you want to see how i have attempted to do this.

What i would like to know is, have i got this right and does anyone have any tips on how to improve my video layout, order and just generally any advice you have to offer.

I think you've got this order spot on. My main gripe is that the videos are very long, you've got to think how long someone's concentration will last before they just skip to the bit that they want to see.

Yea I see what you mean about them being long and how that could be an issue. However because I am doing tutorials, it's difficult, keeping videos short but still getting across all the information that is necessary for the tutorials to be considered complete.

What sort of length would you say is about right for the average viewers concentration on one subject?

I'd say, & obviously this is just my opinion, but about five minutes? When a video gets into double figures I usually think twice before clicking, then again, I have a short attention span :p

This whole "sectioning your videos in 3" thing is actually depends on the type of your channel - since I'm a musician, I obviously don't use it since there's no point. :) However, I recently started a tutorial series and I use this format aswell - I think it gives a nice frame to the video and thus they look more "professional". So yeah, it's definitely a nice thing if you're using it. ;)

Hi mate, I zhink zhe order you use fits very vell viz your tutorial videos. A few minor adjustments I vould recommend (no expert here), it's all about times actually:

1. Keep zhe initial explanation very short, name only vhat you vill do in ze current video. Vhat you vill do in ze next one(s) name at ze end.

2. The intro animation, I vould shorten by a few seconds. Not a major deal zhough.

3. As far as the content goes, sure, it's better to have shorter videos but that vpuld imply making a Part 1, Part2, etc...I don't know really for tutorials...look around how ozher people do it and see how popular they are. For example:

4. The outro screen, definitely shorten it, it adds to the videos total time and I zhink it's not necessary to have it at 20 seconds...

Thanks for the advice count. Something as simple as splitting videos into parts 1,2,3 etc i had not thought of. I will definitely be doing that from now on.

And yes i do need to re evaluate how long i have my opening and ending play for.

If anyone has any further advice/comments on video layouts and timings it's always appreciated.

There is always something new to learn and room for improvement.
