Posting Mad!
I seem to be getting a lot of background noise when i record/stream. I can manage to reduce the noise from my recording by using noise removal in audacity, but i have no way of doing this when streaming, does anyone have any tips on either reduce it IRL or ways of reducing it in OBS/other programs

In OBS, you have to add a Noise Gate. A noise gate cuts out a certain level of volume that you don't want heard and keeps the louder audio for the stream.

Guys, the OP said streaming. NOT AUDACITY.

Anyway, there is a noise gate, but what kind noise are we talking about? People too often use the gate to pull out noise during the gaps, but that doesn't fix what's happening while you're talking and if you're in a noisy room, using a mic with bad settings, or the mic itself is just noisy then no software solutions are gonna fix that.

i've got a blue snowball, i think its the noise from my computer making the background noise, but when streaming its way louder than my videos, even before i reduce it in audacity

There's likely a lot of factors at play here. Snowballs are pretty tricky and VERY sensitive, so they'll pick up anything. When you're streaming that's also taxing the computer along the way and if it's not the best machine you may well have electrical noise going on.

There's your answer. When you stream your PC works even harder therefore making more noise. It happens to me when I edit 60FPS videos. Sorry I can't help with the streaming part.

Most people have no idea where to put the mic. Get it within 6 inches of your face and turn the input volume down. It's a condenser, not a shotgun mic and is of little value being further away.
