Help to get more subscribers and views

Hi guys and girls. I am quite new to youtube but I already love making videos and would love it if others would love them too. I am looking for some tips on how to get more views and subscribers on my channel. If anyone could help then it would be greatly appreciated :) thanks in advance :)
 
Just moving this to the Strategies & Technique Advice section of the forum for you. I don't have many subscribers myself......but I would say use your Facebook and other social media to spread your videos around. Commenting on other people's videos/being a part of the Youtube community can really help as well :)
 
You could talk about it for hours, but the main thing is to really get your channel out there, promote on facebook, twitter, reddit, tumblr, anywhere you can think of :) Optimizing tags using keywords and phrases can help you get related videos, there are further tutorials on how to utilize the title, thumbnail, description and tags to the fullest which are quite helpful :)

For videos? Quality, not quantity :D
 
Here are some ways to grow your channel exponentially.
Constant Uploads
In order to grow a successful YouTube channel, you must be willing to upload constantly! This means to have a set schedule on when to upload, make, and record your videos. Constant uploads also spread your videos more, as there are more of them, giving you a bigger chance to get recognized!

Viewers are Important!
To grow a successful channel, you must talk to your viewers, communicate with them. If they give you criticism such as "please speak louder" don't take it wrong, but take it as they enjoy your content but want you to fix something so they can enjoy your channel more.

Record HD!
A vital part of a YouTube channel is recording in HD. Over the years, new software, and hardware have come out to make recording of games much easier. If you ever need some recording software or hardware, I will be happy to provide you with it. Send me a private message if interested!

Don't give up!
Giving up only makes you look like you can't achieve your dreams. As Eric Thomas once said "If you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful." If you're gonna quit, don't start. If you are destined to make videos, shoot for the stars!

Special Events!
Do some giveaways to make your subscribers more aware in what is going on with your channel. This will also grow your channel exponentially as people like these sort of events!

I have been wanting to do a giveaway but I'm not sure what I would do for it, any ideas ?
I do watch a lot of giveaways to get some ideas but don't have megabucks to go and buy stuff for winners :/

Don't start with giveaways, they usually just garner subscribers who only want free things, not a real audience who will continue to watch.

Since I noticed that you do book reviews, have you thought of Tweeting your review to the author, too? Are there any friends in your area you can film with?
Hannah Hart has a great walking book club she does, maybe it's something you can consider doing in the future! Like choose a book for the week/month, pose ideas and questions to go along with the book, and then do a wrap up.
Also, I love reading books myself and would love to see a channel that talks about like, "Hey if you loved Harry Potter, you'll love these three other series, too!" Like, almost suggestions in the same genre if that makes any sense?
Also, try to pick books that are new releases because they are the most likely to be Googled at the time you film them and put them up, and sometimes people want to know if it is worth checking out.

I don't actually have a twitter so I suppose maybe I should make one, haha. Don't really talk to anyone where I live to be honest so not sure if anyone does youtube videos. I totally get your suggestion about recommending books I the same genre so will try and put that into practice. I know what you mean about new releases but right now I am o a very low budget so mostly get second hand books but I love this as I personally have discovered so many books that have been out for a long time that not a lot of other people have heard about, lol.
