Help! Promoting on Imagesites | Damnlol, imgur

Hey!
I'm entering a form of promoting using gifs. I'm taking 2 seconds of a montage video that has captions and posting them to sites such as Damnlol and imgur. I am also taking the time to make witty comments on other pictures under my Facebook page name.

I was wondering if any of you have tried to promote yourself like this?
Do you think this is effective?
What other sites are like damnlol, imgur and tumblr please list them :)

I got a random viewer today who left a comment, did not subscribe sadly :( . They have healthy youtube activity and they don't have a channel themselves. Definitely worth a shot! :)
 
Very interesting. I know I had a video that went viral, essentially putting nutella on people, and a few people made a gif of the video, and I think the gif went viral which probably gave me more views. I even met one of the guys in real life who saw my video and made a gif of it lol.
Pretty cool, it could work if a few people think its funny and share it ;)
